I sometimes use it in windowed mode, I just use it for recording etc, not that I have in ages :D but it streams live tv really well to this lappy (I only have the frontend running on this box. Well you should not run short of active channels with that it is a monster. I should have remembered mythtv, but got exited as I thought you had found some trick running the simple versions. What I know is that I can run VLC #1 and Kaffeine using #2 dongle this works. Now a big guess from my side is that this module has been locked to the first come first served, ie VLC instance 1 which is working has locked module access: Quote -dtv error: cannot access DVR: Device or resource busy I have turned VLC debug level up to 2 and got considerable data from the instance that works and also from the instance that blocks playing: I believe a number of people have successfully streamed TV from the internet to multiple VLC instances, I have not confirmed that for myself yet.
There is of course no problem with VLC showing two videos at the same time, I have confirmed that, just a bit of unticking in the preferences. I am interested in how you display two windows in Linux. Until then I will get a handful of the 'right' dongles for my purpose.
